Yea, spring is finally here! Those of us who call the Hudson Valley of New York home know what lies around the corner – beautiful blooms, manicured gardens, breathtaking landscapes and the opportunity to perfect our own green thumbs. Unique and special places such as the Kykuit landmark (the John D. Rockefeller Estate) in Sleepy Hollow, Stonecrop Garden in Cold Spring and the Orange County Arboretum in Montgomery will soon be ready to show off award-winning gardens overflowing with color.

Montgomery Place in Red Hook, NY though will be the place to be this spring as they host the Hudson Valley Garden Fair on May 3, 2014. This National Historic Landmark with 434 acres of gardens, orchards and forest is the perfect place for a spring fundraising event that celebrates gardening. This celebration will include local and specialty garden vendors, free garden demonstrations, local gardening organizations, a historic garden and landscape tour. Guests will also be treated to lecturer Jan Johnsen who will share “Heaven is a Garden – Simplicity, Sanctuary and Delight,” which is based on her forthcoming book.
