The Fields of Athenry Room
The room, named for the beautiful little town of Athenry in County Galway made famous by folk ballad describing the heartache endured by the Irish during the Great Famine, is one of the four new luxury rooms added to the Caldwell property. The Athenry Room, just like all the rooms in the Connemara House, has a private entrance and a porch outside your door along with lovely sitting area.
Quite large, the Athenry Room is painted a soft peach color that accents the lovely afternoon sun. Take in the beautiful sunsets on the comfortable window seat. Light a fire, sip a great glass of wine, or let the large Jacuzzi tub help release all the day’s stresses. There is also a large rain shower for your comfort and convenience. An in-room refrigerator and Keurig let you enjoy your favorite snacks and Coffees/Teas/Soft Drinks without ever leaving the room.
The room comes equipped with a King sized cherry wood sleigh bed, gas fireplace, large “Smart” HDTV with DirecTV, Netflix, Hulu+, and many other streaming services. Forgot your iPad? Don’t worry, we provide one for you in each room complete with a Concierge App that provides lots of great info about local attractions and restaurants. As an added treat, if you are here on a Thursday night, head over to Loughran’s Irish Pub (once part of the Caldwell property) to hear the band “The Parting Glass” sing a beautiful rendition of The Fields of Athenry.
