The Great Room
The newest addition to the Caldwell House’s event spaces, the Great Room, located in the Connemara House, can sit from 40 to 75 (depending on seating configuration. The Great Room was once the upper level of the original Caldwell Barn. It was completely renovated in 2014 and now includes a luxury event space complete with a magnificent balcony offering a panoramic view of our lovely landscaped 8 acres, a fully stocked bar, fireplace, and state of the art audio/visual system. In addition, one flow below the Great Room is a Bridal Suite where a bridal party can gather to dress and prepare for the big event. There is also a separate Spa area where couples massages are available.
Experience the pleasures of early 19th-century living at our romantic inn. Relax in the same room that John Caldwell and his family did more than 210 years ago. The Living/Game Room
”If the walls could talk”….The living/game room with its elegantly curved back wall, marble-trimmed coal-burning fireplace, game table, a Victorian melodeon and huge comfortable sofa gives you plenty of space to “spread out.” On quiet days, take advantage of the high-speed Wi-Fi and use the room as your “away office.”
We have stocked the rooms with all sorts of games ranging from cards, to checkers and chess, backgammon, Risk, Scrabble and many more. Enjoy genuine hospitality and thoughtfully appointed lodging accommodations while visiting the awesome lower Hudson Valley.
There are many gardens and “quiet spaces” on our property. There are also several locations where a large tent can be used for outdoor events for up to 150 guests. In addition, we own property across the street from the Main Building which leads up to the Moodna Creek. Sit by the creek and watch it meander its way down to the Hudson River or light a warm fire in the fire pit and enjoy a crisp evening!
