Holiday Events in the Hudson Valley
Hudson Valley Tree Lighting Ceremonies – We know your time is short and is also filled with the hustle and bustle of shopping, parties, cooking, and more. Take some time out and refresh with these light-filled tree lighting events.
- Bicycle Christmas Tree Lighting– December 8th at the Beacon Visitors Center and Polhill Park. The festivities start at 4pm and the tree will be list at 5pm. If you bring your own mug you will be served hot cider or cocoa!
- Celebration of Lights Parade & Fireworks– November 30th at 6:30pm in Downtown Poughkeepsie. Watch two tree lightings and a winter firework show at the Poughkeepsie waterfront.
- Holiday Tree Lighting– December 5th at Pine Island Town Park at 5pm. Eat cookies, sip hot beverages and join in with the carolers as you await the lighting of the tree.
- Middletown Tree Lighting Ceremony and Parade– November 23rd at 6pm in Festival Square. Enjoy the holiday parade and then watch Santa light the tree. After the ceremony, stay and enjoy a free screening of It’s a Wonderful Life at the Paramount Theatre.
Christmas Candlelight Tours – Celebrate a classic Christmas with the annual candlelight tours of Hill Hold on December 7th from 12pm to 4pm. This event takes place at the 1769 Historic Homestead of Thomas Bull where every room is beautifully decorated for the holidays. The traditional tree in the parlor is stunning and surrounded by an amazing collection of antique toys. View open-hearth cooking demonstrations in the kitchen and sample some holiday treats after a visit with Santa.
The Nutcracker – The Bardavon Theatre in Poughkeepsie will be presenting the New Paltz Ballet Theatre’s production of The Nutcracker. It is the 22nd year for the production of this classic holiday event featuring dancers from the New York City Ballet. It is a stunningly visual delight and a performance for the whole family. Choose from performances on December 12th at 9:45 am & 12 pm or December 13th at 12pm.
