The Hudson Highlands State Park is located on the east side of the Hudson River and runs from Peekskill in Westchester County to Beacon in Dutchess County. It offers 8,000 acres full of trails to explore…over 50 in fact! You’ll find birds to watch and all kinds of animal activity to keep an eye out for.
Guests come here for hiking, fishing, boating and birding. The Hudson Highlands provide such a stunning backdrop you’ll want to bring your camera for some one-of-a-kind photo ops. The trail network offered here varies from easy to challenging so people of all ages and abilities will enjoy their time here. You can take a 1.30-mile walk or a 10.3-mile hike and go from 9 all the way up to 1,601 feet above sea level. The park’s most well-known trail is Breakneck Ridge and was rated by Newsweek as one of the top 10 day hikes in America. There are several ways to enter the park so download a map before you go.
