Loughran’s Irish Pub a Go to Spot in Salisbury Mills, NY

In honor of St. Patrick’s Day, we thought we’d start today with a bit of our own Irish history! The Caldwell family roots began in Ireland around 1742. John Caldwell, was a successful businessman in the production of linen in the northern part of Ireland. He and his wife, Elizabeth Calderwood and their 12 children lived on an estate called Harmony Hill, in the hamlet now known as Balnamore. We encourage you to take some time to read about our family’s history and how the Caldwell’s played a role in shaping the history of this region! Now, being extremely proud of our Irish roots, we absolutely love the fact that we have a great restaurant –  Loughran’s Irish Pub right next door! If you are looking for a fantastic place to enjoy a hearty, comfort-food style Irish meal, this is the spot.

Loughran’s Irish Pub is a fantastic dining choice for guests when you don’t want to venture far from the inn. Loughran’s opened their doors in 1986. If you haven’t heard, the food scene in the Hudson Valley is off the charts so when a local restaurant such as Loughran’s can stand the test of time and still be a top dining choice in the area 30 years later, you know they are doing something right. The quality of the food, portion sizes, friendly service and relaxing atmosphere are what make it a great spot to spend an evening. In addition to their hearty fare from Ireland, they are known for their prime rib (huge an absolutely delicious!) and offer a menu full of everything from farm fresh salads to seafood to sandwiches. Looking for a place to grab a beer with your friends? They have over 50 ice cold brews to choose from and a cocktail list so you are sure to find something to pair nicely with your meal. Open mic nights and live music Thursday to Saturday keep the pub fun and lively. The food and atmosphere are exactly what you want in an Irish pub!

We love getting to know our guests here at the B&B – so many great stories have been shared around our breakfast table over the years. We’d be happy to talk more about our history with you over breakfast and hear about yours as well! The Hudson Valley draws visitors from all over the country and beyond and you don’t need a special occasion to come and see it for yourself.
