Only an hour drive from the Caldwell House, our beautiful New York country inn in the heart of the
lower Hudson Valley, is the Bethel Woods Center for the Arts. This award-winning cultural and civic center that was built around the site of the famous 1969 Woodstock festival is a mecca for the arts of all kinds. The museum alone is a reason to visit this center, which is surrounded by 800 acres of Hudson Valley beauty. The museum is actually fully dedicated to the legacies surrounding the political and cultural events of the 1960’s—it is truly fascinating.
In addition to all of this, the center does a fantastic job of highlighting spectacular artists from all over the world and in all genres. Summer is a great time to visit Bethel Woods and their Pavilion Stage amphitheater nestled in the Sullivan County countryside, which seats 15,000 people under cover and on a perfectly manicured lawn is really an extraordinary setting for a concert. Since they are so close to the Caldwell House and these concerts would make a great excuse for a weekend getaway, we wanted to share some summer highlights
with you. Get your calendars ready!
